Cognitive laboratory CO-LAB

The building of the Cognitive Laboratory CO-LAB, which is a research facility especially for the PhD programme in Religious Studies, is the result of two projects of the OPRDE (Operational Programme Research, Development and Education) implemented in 2018-2022.

The laboratory has a total area of 200m2. It consists of a research room where the motion capture and immersive virtual reality unit is located, as well as an eye-tracking room and an EEG booth. The laboratory also includes a seminar room, an staff office with a reference library and a room for PhD students.

Current project: in 2023, together with PhD students, we implemented the IGA 2023 project entitled "Experimental research on the influence of non-religious identity on preference behaviour). The total research sample is 85 participants.

At the same time we are preparing the following research designs:

1. research on ritual behaviour of believers and non-believers by MOCAP in combination with virtual reality

2. research on religious beliefs using AI

3. eye-tracking counterintuitiveness research
